IT Sector to continue dominance…..for opportunities Skill matters!

The two letter abbreviation IT will be the most discussed abbreviation between the young bloods of our country. Though this sector started back in late 1960s it flourished after the introduction of New Economic policy. The sector deep-rooted in the Indian industry and it too reflected in our GDP. The share increased from 1% to 8% from the past 80’s to 2004. At present it contributes one tenth of the GDP. Three fourth of the IT revenue is obtained from the exports of IT services and the remaining from the domestic IT sector. The major share of exports holds with the US and the Europe. These figures tell us that this sector is a job creator giant. The combined job creation of IT-BPO sector is estimated to cross 2millions. Indirect employment is expected to be around 8 million. So this numbers are expected to contribute to the unemployment crisis of our nation.

Even after the global economic meltdown the IT sector employability figures still reaches new heights. So it has to be assumed that this sector is in a stable state and this gave a boom to the professional education sector and students started rushing to the engineering colleges in the country and thereby a huge number of professionals were produced in the country. And as a result the quality of the professionals who gets out of the institutions started to decline. The companies always seek exceptional technical prowess, meticulous software development skills and our students started regularly failing at this criteria of the companies. Though there is enough job opportunities in our country, majority of fresh graduates found it difficult to get into a job. Now what they lack is technical expertise which they were not able to gain from their universities. So a gap was formed between what companies need and what students can offer. This gap was formed due to the exponential rate of technology changes and our education system failed to change at this exponential rate.

Now comes the significance of ITFS programmes of IPSR. It is to strongly believe that ITFS fills those gaps mentioned earlier in a systematic and organized fashion. Students exposure to rigorous training sessions and their live project experience is making them industry ready. Companies usually ask not only for their software skills but also their soft skills. The ITFS trainings are designed in such a way that the trainees could learn to communicate in a professional way and thereby achieve what a company expects. The brain storming aptitude sessions also let the trainees learn the skills what they actually need in the industry. Qualified instructors with real-world experience using the tool or technology what industry seeks also contributes to the ITFS programmes. The customizable training classes are well tailored according to the student interests as well as the industry interests. Stated are the facts that contribute to the success of IPSR’s ITFS programmes.
