B.Sc Chemistry to System Engineer through Red Hat Online Training
Making Impossible Possible. From a Non-IT Background to an IT Job. Let's have a look into the journey of our student Midhun….
How the Journey Started:
Midhun was a B.Sc graduate in Chemistry. It was very crucial for him to pursue a Postgraduate course, but it was a tedious task for him to find admission for his post graduation. Initially he spotted an opportunity in a private firm, but unfortunately, within a few months, he decided to quit the job due to some personal issues.Midhun's career journey became challenging when the covid pandemic struck the world and it was a tough time for everyone.Midhun decided to spend hours poring over books for bank jobs. It was during this time that Midhun had to balance earning with improving skills and employability and he found out that high-paying bank jobs were tough to get because they had many candidates.Midhun started researching other available options. He found that he is actually much more interested in learning about IT programs, which is also where he has seen more opportunities with respect to employment.
The Biggest Challenge:
As a person with no IT background, he was feeling that he needed to educate himself with the upcoming IT boom. Besides, he also wanted to explore how he could use his skills better. He read about various reviews and recommendations for the Red Hat linux training program in IPSR.
How he joined Red Hat Online Training at IPSR:
“Where should I do my Linux Training?" It's a common question, and people have different needs and preferences. Before joining IPSR, he wanted to make sure that it was worth investing what little time and money he had into this course. So he connected with a few others as part of his research. Having heard about the institute beforehand helped, and a few of his acquaintances have already completed their programs from the same institute. He also knew a few of his friends who had enrolled in the same course earlier and gained knowledge and got placed in good companies, hence he joined the Red Hat Online Training course. But with a degree in an unrelated discipline, he didn’t know how he could make the leap to enter the IT profession. He had no knowledge of programming or technical skills. His desire was to gain technical knowledge and to get focused on DevOps.
IPSR IT Finishing School:
He decided to attend theIPSR IT Finishing School Program because he thought it would push him to learn as much as possible in the shortest period of time. He got both Red Hat Online Training and offline support from our mentors. The quality of mentored learning sessions has been excellent throughout the program. The mentors have been terrific in terms of guidance, advice, feedback, and constant support. They are not limited only to the mentor-oriented sessions but actively share their responses/thoughts/materials offline as well. “The ITFS program is fabulous! It was a masterpiece.”- Said Mr. Midhun. This program supported him constantly in the entire journey in the way of Aptitude skills, Soft skills, Communication Classes etc.
The Placement Support from IPSR:
The ITFS Linux Training program not only provided him with in-depth knowledge of trending technology but also prepared him for interviews by giving Mock interviews. Above all 100 percent Placement support was provided. While job hunting he understood the preference given for RHCE certification. By getting awareness from the industry professionals he came to know about the value of RHCE certification and within a short span of time he grabbed the RHCSA Certification. Being from a Non-IT background this certification became an advantage for him to get shortlisted in interviews and very quickly he got placed in Align Minds as System Engineer.
IPSR’s Learning Management System:
Perhaps the most valuable part is the Learning Management System(LMS). Through this service, he gained feedback on his projects and reinforces what he has learned throughout the week. The program management team kept him on track with assignments. We were able to help, guide, encourage and motivate him throughout the course through hands- on activities.
