Making the Transition from Mechanical Engineering to IT 

When Aaron J. joined IPSR Solutions Kottayam in January 2026, he came with a Mechanical Engineering background and a clear goal: to build a career in Information Technology. 

After graduating in Mechanical Engineering in 2018, transitioning into IT was a challenging step. Aaron needed more than theoretical knowledge—he needed practical skills, industry exposure, and the confidence to enter a completely new field.

At IPSR, he began building that foundation through structured technical training and hands-on learning. 

Building Skills Across Red Hat, Cloud & DevOps 

Aaron’s learning journey covered multiple technologies that helped him develop a strong foundation for an IT infrastructure career. 

From January to March, Alex Sir guided him through his Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) training, which he successfully completed with certification. In April, he expanded his knowledge into cloud technologies through Amazon Web Services (AWS) training. 

During the same month, Amal Sir trained him in essential DevOps tools, giving him practical exposure to technologies including Docker, Jenkins, and Terraform. 

This combination of Linux administration, cloud technologies, and DevOps tools helped Aaron develop skills that went beyond a single certification. 

Practical Exposure Through Internship & Career Guidance 

Technical training was only one part of Aaron’s journey. In June, Neethu Miss guided him throughout his internship, helping him gain practical exposure and build confidence in applying his technical knowledge. 

The monthly career meetings conducted by Anitha Miss and Szen Sir also played an important role in his preparation. These sessions provided timely guidance on career development and opportunities within the IT industry. 

With continuous support from the trainers and team, Aaron gradually moved from learning the fundamentals to becoming more confident about starting his IT career. 

The Breakthrough: From Mechanical Engineering to IT 

The result of this journey came in July 2026, when Aaron successfully transitioned into the IT industry and was placed at V I Point Solutions as a Junior System Administrator. 

His achievement demonstrates that a non-IT academic background does not have to be a barrier to entering the technology industry. With the right technical training, practical exposure, and career guidance, it is possible to build a new career path. 

Starting a New Career in IT 

For Aaron, IPSR was more than a training institute. It became the platform that helped him gain the technical knowledge, practical experience, career guidance, and confidence required to make a successful career transition. 

From a Mechanical Engineering graduate to a Junior System Administrator, his journey shows what is possible when a career change is supported by focused learning and hands-on experience.
