Vinay Amarnath: A Trailblazing Journey from RHCE Pioneer to IBM Cloud Architect

In 2003, Vinay K. Amaranathan joined IPSR as a B.Tech fresher with aspirations of joining Red Hat. His time at IPSR, during the inception of its Hardware & Networking division at IPSR”s Calicut Branch, led to a historic milestone—he became the first RHCE-certified professional trained by IPSR, a proud testament to the institute’s exceptional training in Red Hat technologies.

Reflecting on his experience at IPSR, Vinay shares, “Beyond technical expertise, IPSR instilled in me the values of resilience, teamwork, and a dedication to continuous learning. The supportive culture fostered both personal and professional growth—it truly felt like a family, where collaboration and shared success were celebrated. This dynamic environment laid the groundwork for my future.”

Later, Vinay’s career took off as a Linux Administrator at Intilla Systems. By 2006, he had joined Wipro Infotech as a Senior Server Management Engineer, advancing quickly in his field. Six years into his IT journey, Vinay reached another milestone—joining IBM Bangalore as an Advisory System Analyst. Today, is highly successful as a Cloud Architect at IBM USA, applying his expertise to cutting-edge performance testing and security projects.

Reflecting on his time at IPSR, Vinay shares, “IPSR holds a special place in my career journey, as it was where I took my first professional steps as a Red Hat Trainer and Linux System Administrator.  The skills and hands-on experience I gained during my time there were instrumental in building a solid foundation in technology and systems administration, which I’ve carried with me throughout my career. I was given the invaluable opportunity to immerse myself in both technical challenges and real-world problem-solving.” He fondly recalls the supportive culture that fostered personal and professional growth, acknowledging IPSR as a family that celebrated each other's success.

As IPSR celebrates 25 years, Vinay offers a heartfelt message: “Congratulations to IPSR on 25 incredible years!
