Instagram reels play catch up with TikTok. So right now the new trends that really pop off on TikTok are not finding their way on to reels for sometime soon. Instagram reels are going to have to do something to move faster to keep those things on.
Increase reels virality
Instagram reels actually need to go more viral as people are finding a decrease in reach of their reels that usually can be attributed to their social media presence. so they need to be continued to post perhaps content that is staler as you can see trends and things move so fast on these apps, the same thing with TikTok, some trends move so fast which will not impact Instagram as a whole. Anyway, virality is a key to adoption. The reason why TikTok did so well is that they make everybody famous and that’s like the number one goal of the present world. This is where Instagram reels can play a role to double down on that and create more famous people. Also people with massive followings all of a sudden this year you need more people like that because those are the dopamine that they need to keep coming back for more which TikTok did flawlessly. So what will happen is that we are going to see more virality with reels. So there is still a ton of opportunity especially on the organic side with reels lookout for larger and larger numbers and more accounts growing as a result of reels pushing everybody to use it.
Conversion from stories to reels
Followers have been using Instagram stories for quite some time. Most of them were using it for posting quality eye-catching images but once it hit with reels and stories this app got more attention as they can post it together on Facebook and Instagram together in one click. Instagram stories can now be converted to reels and can be a bit longer clip also with the option available in the Instagram highlights.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri has re-stated many times that video content will be the key focus for IG moving forward with reels in particular. As per Mosseri back in December
“We are going to double down on our focus on video and consolidate all of our video formats around reels”
Instagram reels have already made his shoes on the ground as it has gotten more popular among their users. Especially if we consider India which is one of the main markets for any apps in the world, last one year itself most of the influencers have managed to improve their follower numbers to millions which shows the trend of changing or maybe we can say an alternative for Tiktok.
Considering these facts with the new experiments from Instagram is definitely going to make a glittering future for Instagram reels while compared with Youtube, Snapchat, and TikTok.
